About curriculum

Why IGCSE English Matters
IGCSE English is crucial for students as it lays a solid foundation in the English language, essential for global communication. The curriculum of IGCSE English helps students develop strong grammar, enhances their vocabulary, and familiarizes them with punctuation marks. Beyond these fundamental skills, IGCSE English encourages students to explore literature across different cultures and periods, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of literature. It also aids in developing clear, precise, and confident communication skills, which are invaluable for public speaking and intellectual growth.
Structure of the IGCSE English Curriculum
The IGCSE English curriculum is focused on four primary skill areas: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. Students are assessed with grades ranging from A (the highest) to G (the lowest), with the possibility of being ungraded if performance does not meet the minimum criteria. The curriculum includes both Core and Extended levels, where Core candidates can achieve up to a grade C, and Extended candidates can be graded from A to C. Extended courses include supplemental topics beyond the regular core content, allowing students to delve deeper into the subject.
